Mackinnons held agency of P&O Group's liner business for years in the past until its merger with Nedlloyd Lines in 1997.

The trades served were to/from the UK,Europe,Australia,New Zealand,the Middle East, USA, East  Africa,India and Sri Lanka.

Mackinnons had the lion’s share of local shipping business and catered to the needs of ship-owners /charterers in various trades with a wide range of cargoes like containers, bulk, crude oil, petroleum products and heavy-lifts etc.Some of the  principals represented  were C.S.A.V., Kuwait Petroleum, Tokyo Marine, Stolt Neilson, International Tanker Management UAE, Australian National Line, Scottish Ship Management to name a few.

Since formation of P&O Nedlloyd, group's liner business was handled by sister concern, P&O Containers Pakistan until recently when Maersk Line took over P&O Nedlloyd.

Drawing on the historical association with the local shipping industry Mackinnons enjoys an excellent rapport with port authorities in Karachi and in Port Qasim including terminal operators.
