Mackinnons has been a pioneer in the recruitment and training of Pakistani crew for P&O and other foreign flag vessels and this activity has remained an area of special focus.
In addition,Mackinnons undertake the training of ratings for mandatory courses as per STCW95 Certification, such as Personal Survival Techniques,Basic Fire Fighting, Proficiency in Survival Crafts & Rescue Boats,Elementary First Aid, EDH, Personal Safety & Social Responsibility etc. For this purpose Mackinnons has also established its own Seamen Training Centre at Islamabad for training of crew for its principal, P&O Cruises.
Mackinnions also acts as filing agents for Liberian Seamen’s Books.
In recognition of its services, Mackinnons enjoys a very effective relationship with the agencies involved in crew manning industry in Pakistan, and among the local seafaring fraternity Mackinnons is openly regarded as the pioneer in this field. Its services for the promotion and development of Pakistani seamen are widely recognized by all alike.
To serve our principals, a healthy roster of trained and experienced ratings is maintained for appointment as and when required. Similarly a data-bank is in place for qualified Deck and EngIne officers to draw from. Officers/ratings on the roster includes personnel with sufficient tanker experience.
